Shiphrah - Web Size Download

$25.00

Shiphrah was a bold and strong woman of faith who risked her life for the sake of others. She is one of the two head Hebrew midwives during the Israelites’ captivity in Egypt. Her name means “to be fair” or “beautiful.”

When commanded by the Pharaoh to kill the firstborn boys after they were born, Shiphrah, along with the other head midwife Puah, refused. Her actions saved the lives of countless young boys. Because of Shiphrah's faithfulness to God and disobedience to the Pharaoh, she was blessed abundantly. God was kind to the midwives because of their faithfulness to Him and gave them families of their own. (Exodus 1:15-21)
